Details for: Loss of Wellington III (Reg. BK445)


Historical Data:
Taking off at 1135 from Finningley for a navigation exercise. During the flight, the fabric began peeling away from ther mainplanes of their Wellington III (reg. BK445) and the order to bale out was given. Only three were able to bale out before the aircraft hit the ground at 1255 near West Feldom, nw of Richmond, Yorkshire. Two crewmen were killed.
