Details for: Loss of Halifax II (Reg. W1163 GV-U)


Historical Data:
Taking off from Marston Moor for night circuit training, it is believed that their Halifax II (Reg. W1163 GV-U) lost power in the outer port engine and while opening up in readiness to go around again the pilot let the nose of the Halifax rise too steeply and lost control. The aircraft crashed at 2220 and burst into flames. Three crewmen were killed and one injured.
