On the right are listed the individual events and incidents, such as battles or air raids. For each conflict the total number of casualties are given, whereas for each event or incident the names of those who died are listed in alphabetical order.

Historical Data:
Monday 23rd September 1940. Large daytime raids failed to penetrate as far as London, but at night there was a considerable increase in the number of raids reported with few London boroughs unaffected. 110 people were killed in London throughout the night, 12 elsewhere. "…There was a street called Risinghill Street and I remember that there was a landmine struck, and Risinghill Street was absolutely demolished…" ('Their Finest Hour', Alan Kendall, 1972). Hermes Street was also hit. 31 people died in Islington - 29 in Risinghill Street.
