Details for: Sinking of HMS Exeter


Historical Data:
HMS Exeter, a York class cruiser was sunk by Japanese cruisers on 1st March 1942. 54 of the ship's crew were killed, 651 were rescued by the Japanese and became prisoners of war. Thomas Yeo died while in captivity on 18th July 1945.
