Details for: Sinking of H.M.S. Janus


Historical Data:
H.M.S. Janus was a J-Class destroyer. On 23 January 1944, she was off the beachhead at Anzio when she was attacked by a Heinkel He 111 torpedo bomber. She was struck by either a Fritz X bomb or a Henschel Hs 293 guided bomb. She sank within 20 minutes, only 80 of her crew were rescued.
