Details for: Sinking of H.M.S. Daring


Historical Data:
H.M.S. Daring was a D Class destroyer. On 18 February 1940 she was torpedoed by U-23 74km east of Pentland Firthnear the Orkneys. She capsized and sank quickly, with the loss of her captain, Cdr Sydney Alan Cooper, and 156 of her crew. There were only five survivors.
