Details for: Loss of Stirling III (Reg. EH878 IC-I)


Historical Data:
Taking off at 1948 from Downham Market on a mission to Manheim, their Stirling III (Reg. EH878 IC-I) was shot down by a night-fighter piloted by Leutnant Hans-Heinz Augenstein (III./NJG1) and crashed at 0045 at Schönborn, 4 km SW of Simmern. Six crewmen were killed, one was taken prisoner.
