Details for: Sinking of MV Nottingham


Historical Data:
The M.V. Nottingham was sailing independently on her maiden voyage from Glasgow to Australia with a general cargo when she was intercepted by the U-boat U-74. She was torpedoed and sank in the North Atlantic some 550 miles south-east of Cape Farewell on the 7th November 1941. Built in London the Nottingham was part of the fleet of the Federal Steam Navigation Company of New Zealand.
