Details for: Convoy CU-36 and the sinking of HMS Hurst Castle

Historical Data:
At 0822 on 1st September 1944, the Corvette HMS Hurst Castle, while escorting convoy CU-36 north of Troy Island, Donegal, was torpedoed by U-482 and sank with the loss of 17 lives. There were 107 survivors, all picked up by HMS Ambuscade.
