Details for: Air raids on Sunday 8th December 1940


Historical Data:
Sunday 8th December 1940. Major attacks were launched against London, as well as some raids against East Anglian airfields. It would appear that the City and Government Offices were the main target once again, but badly hit districts include Marylebone, Westminster, Lambeth, Southwark, Finsbury, Battersea, Wandsworth, Tottenham, Camberwell, Millwall, Stepney and, further to the east, Wanstead. This was one of the worst nights for London in over two months. 250 people were killed. A number of properties were damaged in Islington. Barnsbury Station on Roman Way was hit with the loss of five lives.
