Historical Data:
Friday 25th October 1940. Poor weather condition shad prevented any raids over the previous few days. On Friday 25th, however, four large enemy attacks focused on London during the day. One raid, at 1305 hours, penetrated north of the River Thames and central London and neighbouring areas were bombed. By night, London was severely hit, especially during the evening to 2100 hours. Birmingham too was severely hit this night. 134 lives were lost in London and 77 lost elsewhere. A number of properties were damaged in Islington. Northampton Buildings on Rosoman Street were hit with the loss of 15 lives.
