Historical Data:
Wednesday 16th October 1940. Raids were sporadic during the day, consisting mainly of individual aircraft, only one of which penetrated as far as London. After dark, the raids intensified until midnight. The main target was London but a small number of raids attacked Wales and the Midlands. 46 people were killed in London. In Islington, damage was caused to Highbury New Park, St. Thomas Road and Market Road Garden's Shelter. 16 lives were lost.
