Historical Data:
Tuesday 8th October 1940. There were four main attacks this day, tow of them focused upon London. Many of the attacks in force were made by Me 109s, fitted with bombs, in a dive-bomber role. Heavier bombers also attacked as individual aircraft. Southwark, Hammersmith and Shoreditch were particularly hit along with Islington, where Finsbury Park Station was hit with the loss of nine lives. 13 enemy aircraft were lost and 11 damaged. St. Matthew's Hospital in neighbouring Hackney was hit this day.
