Historical Data:
Wednesday 18th September 1940. London was the main target throughout the day and night - approximately 800 individual aircraft are believed to have attempted to make it through to the area but damage was slight. A number of properties were damaged in Islington. Astey's Row, off Essex Road, Grosvenor Avenue, Wakeham Street, Marquis Road and Freshwater Road were hit with loss of nine lives.
